The Document Committee is commissioned by and reports to the board of directors. The committee is responsible for advising the board on matters pertaining to the following governing documents:
Bylaws. Bylaws contain provisions concerning membership rights and actual association operations, such as meetings, procedures for electing the board members and officers, and general duties of the board and officers.
CC&Rs. The Declaration of Covenants, Conditions & Restrictions, otherwise known as the "CC&Rs", describes the rights and obligations of the membership to the association, and the association to the membership. This includes maintenance responsibilities and restrictions on the use of property.
Rules and Regulations. Rules are established for regulation of matters not fully described in the CC&Rs, such as parking and use of facilities.
Read and review the Bylaws and CC&Rs that were received from The Loftin Firm on 7/24/07. Read and review the current Marineland MHP Rules and Regulations. Consult with The Loftin Firm regarding what portions of these documents can and cannot be modified under California law. Survey residents to determine what modifications should be made. Prepare and present the recommendations to the board by December 1st, 2007.
Term: The Documents Committee shall exist for a period of six months from date of commission.
Committee Organization: The committee shall of at least three members. Committee chair is appointed by board of directors. The committee shall meet as frequently as necessary. The Committee may, in its discretion, delegate all or a portion of its duties and responsibilities to a subcommittee of the Committee. Minutes will be taken at all committee meetings.
Relationship to Board: A copy of all committee meeting minutes will be sent to the board. Expenditures must be approved in advance by the board.
