Meet Sam Owenby, Marineland's new On-Site Property Manager

Before he moved to Marineland, Sam Owenby was living in San Bernardino. He had never been to the South Bay and had only rarely visited any of the LA beach towns. "I ‘ve been to Venice Beach," says Sam "but that’s about it."

How is Sam adjusting to beach life? So far, so good. He checked out the Hermosa Fiesta over Labor Day weekend. He has a bike that he’s ridden a lot in the San Bernardino Mountains and now plans to ride on the Strand. Sam also anticipates more frequent visits from his college-age daughter and her friends, now that he has a beach home.

Sam is single with two kids. His daughter, Stephanee, attends Cal State University, and his son, Sam III, is almost 14 years old. Sam was born in North Carolina but grew up on military bases in the U.S. and around the world. His father (Sam I) was 22 years with the Army and like many military families they moved often.

Sam has worked as a Property Manager for 14 years. Always working for John Davis, president of Haven Management Services. His work philosophy? Says Sam, "Treat people the way you want to be treated."
